Cornelius is throwing its support behind Regulatory Affairs Officer Danielle O’Connor, as she prepares to tackle the London Marathon in aid of charity partner Sparkle Malawi.

On 26 April, Danielle will take on the iconic 26-mile challenge, which last year set an all-time record of over 414,000 applicants. Throughout the marathon and in the training leading up to the big day, Danielle will be fundraising for Sparkle Malawi, an organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable children in Malawi. The charity provides local communities with nutrition, healthcare and community initiatives that seek to effect sustainable long-term change in the region.

Aiming to raise £5000, Danielle will be organising a number of fundraising events with the Cornelius Giving Fund ahead of the event to help meet her target. Her challenge follows a successful year of charity initiatives from Cornelius raising vital funds for Sparkle.

Danielle commented: “Supporting our charity partner and ‘doing good’ is so central to who we are as a business, but also on a personal level I’m extremely proud to be fundraising for The Sparkle Foundation.”

“Their work in Malawi is such an important cause, and we’re all pleased to do what we can to support it. The London Marathon is going to be a challenge, but I’m motivated knowing that each pound we raise goes to the people that need it the most.”

Dr Neville Prior, Cornelius Group Chairman, added: “We’re extremely proud of Danielle and her commitment to completing the 2020 London Marathon for The Sparkle Foundation. Having seen the result of Sparkle’s work first-hand, it’s a cause that has become very close to our hearts. We are proud of the support we could give Sparkle in 2019 and we’re excited to continue this into 2020. We’re all behind you, Danielle!”
