Cornelius, an independent European distributor of high-quality, innovative ingredients for the food and drink industry, has secured membership of the UK-based trade association, the Ice Cream Alliance (ICA), to gain traction in one of the world’s most prosperous markets.

Membership sees Cornelius solidify its position in supplying the expanding global ice cream market, predicted to be worth more than $74 billion by 2024, whilst offering fellow members access to the unparalleled expertise of its Health and Nutrition division.

Joy Thomas, UK Business Manager at Cornelius, commented: “Membership provides us with a fantastic opportunity to share our expertise and establish long-lasting relationships with businesses working in ice cream and frozen desserts worldwide.

“With the UK ice cream market experiencing unprecedented growth and valued upwards of £1billion, it’s vital that we’re always ahead of the trends and continue to develop our understanding and knowledge in the sector. Our Health & Nutrition division has seen increasing numbers of clients looking to tap into this growth market and membership is therefore crucial to ensuring that we are well-equipped to provide both knowledge and service that exceeds their expectations.”

The ICA is the only membership trade organisation for the ice cream industry in the UK. Through various initiatives, including organising its annual Ice Cream and Gelato Expo, it aims to encourage and support the production, vending and consumption of premium quality ice creams and create a beneficial community to connect business and encourage trade.
