Sodium hyaluronate is the main component of soft molecular tissue such as the skin, vitreous humor of the eyes and synovial fluid of the joints. By its very nature, hyaluronic acid (HA) can be used as a topical moisturiser or taken orally as well as an alternative to, or in combination with glucosamine/ chondroitin and MSM. Hyaluronic acid has an extremely high molecular weight, and therefore offers a advantage with dosage.

As well for the use within joint health, other applications also include:

- Eye drops

- Mucosa wound healing (after burning in particular)

- Condoms

The hyaluronic acid from Bloomage Freda Biopharm is produced via fermentation, and allows for an assay of 95% and higher (internal control). This means that Bloomage's HA is from non animal source, where most other sources are manufactured from rooster combs (containing a mixture of HA, collagen and other polysaccharides). Furthermore, it is non GMO, has GMP certification and is available in an EP grade.
