Cornelius managing director, Darren Spiby, has been promoted to the role of chief executive officer (CEO) in an organisational change to further support company growth.
Darren will build on his success as managing director, a role that will cease to exist, in his new position as CEO. The new role has an increased remit, which Darren will fulfil whilst continuing to report to the previous holder of the position, Dr. Neville Prior, who remains as chairman of the board.
Dr. Prior said: “I’m delighted to announce Darren’s appointment to CEO. His knowledge of the business will be instrumental in maintaining optimum operational efficiency as we continue on our high growth journey.”
Darren has significant knowledge of the business, having worked with Cornelius for 12 years. He first joined the company as a new business development manager in 2004 and has since gained a wealth of experience leading teams to develop new business in the health and nutrition, care products and industrial sectors in the UK and Europe.
Darren’s new role includes the development of a solid framework for future business growth, with a focus on the identification and delivery of synergies between the Cornelius distribution and speciality manufacturing businesses.
Darren commented: “I’m very excited about the new challenges my CEO role will bring. We’ve worked hard to ensure that we have the correct strategy and teams in place to deliver high growth in our distribution business and it’s now time to optimise, and benefit from, internal synergies between the Cornelius distribution and manufacturing operations.”
Dr. Prior added: “Having worked with Darren throughout his time at Cornelius, and particularly closely in recent years, I’m confident that we’re moving forward into a very exciting growth period. Darren and the senior team have my 100% support.”
