Cornelius, an independent and European distributor of chemicals, raw materials and ingredients, has elevated its industry position by joining the British Coatings Federation (BCF).

Membership brings Cornelius into a network of more than 150 companies operating within the UK’s £2.8 Billion-a-year paints, printing inks, powder coatings and wallcoverings manufacturing industries. The BCF is the sole UK trade association representing the interests of businesses in the sector and its members represent 95% of UK industry sales.

Jason Fitzgerald, Business Manager, Performance Chemicals at Cornelius, said: “Joining the BCF is a significant step for Cornelius and provides us with the tools needed to expand further and fully cement our position in the performance chemicals market.”

Cornelius now benefits from the BCF’s extensive knowledge and guidance in areas including EU legislation, health, safety and environmental matters and access to industry statistics, enabling Cornelius to respond quickly to market changes and issues, providing the business with a competitive edge.

Structured BCF events provide Cornelius with fresh networking opportunities to further understand market trends and project future market activity. The BCF’s provision of training, apprenticeship programmes and ambassador opportunities within schools, will also offer Cornelius the chance to expand and to share its extensive knowledge of the sector.

Cornelius Performance Chemicals supplies a wide range of raw materials and additives to the paints & coatings, plastics & rubber and construction sectors.
