Director of Bridge2Food Gerard Klein Essink is to join the Cornelius Group, an independent European distributor of high quality, innovative raw ingredients for the food and drink industry at the forthcoming Food Matters Live 2016 at Excel, London next month.

Gerard Klein Essink will be presenting in the Cornelius Pavilion, which can be found at stands 80 and 92 during the exhibition. Gerard is a highly regarded individual within the food industry as the founder of Bridge2Food, which was launched in 2002 to provide research and consultancy services in fast-moving consumer categories.

Gerard said: “We have a passion for bringing people together, bridging cultures and combining views and experiences to innovate in business and research. Together with Cornelius, we can inform the food industry of our latest developments, how our collaboration works and how we can support the sector.”

Gerard champions the need for a better food world and during his presentation at Food Matters Live he will discuss healthy ageing, sports nutrition and food innovations. With a focus on healthy living and developing foods for the active consumer, Gerard’s presentation will complement Cornelius and its theme of ‘feel good’ functional food and beverages.

Kerry Dodd, business manager for Cornelius health & nutrition, said: “We are extremely pleased to have Gerard and Bridge2Food on board. Gerard’s knowledge is invaluable and we share his enthusiasm for the industry and passion for delivering innovative food solutions.”

The programme of events on the Cornelius stand also includes live demonstrations and talks by industry speakers throughout the three-day show. The line-up includes Lonza Nutrition, a leading provider of high quality branded food ingredients, Ganeden, a probiotic ingredients manufacturer, Sluys, a manufacturer of flavours, drink concentrates and beverage emulsions and Evolva, a Swiss fermentation specialist.

Cornelius offers a range of product solutions from colours and coating agents, food emulsifiers and proteins, to vitamins and minerals. Supplied across a variety of applications for the sports nutrition, protein, animal nutrition, confectionery, beverage, convenience foods and bakery market sectors, the company has diversified its product and service offer in recent years.

Gerard’s presentation will take place at the Cornelius Pavilion, stand 80 at 2pm on Wednesday 23rd November 2016.
