Award winning chef to present at Cornelius Food Matters Live Pavilion

Award winning patisserie chef Emma Carlton will be joining Cornelius, an independent European distributor of high quality raw ingredients for the food and drink industry, on their pavilion stand at Food Matters Live 2016.

The food recipe developer will be taking part in a series of live demonstrations at the Cornelius Pavilion on stands 80 & 92 during the show. With a focus on healthy living, Ms Carlton, who specialises in healthy food development within the industry, will be baking several recipes featuring vanilla from Nielsen-Massey, a leading vanilla producer and Cornelius partner.

Kerry Dodd, business manager for health & nutrition said: “Having Emma on our stand to showcase her talent, using high quality innovative ingredients from our partners, is a real coup for us. Her approach is very much on healthy ingredient choices which ties in nicely with our theme of ‘feel good’ functional food and drink.” 

Emma is passionate about sourcing and baking with healthy and nutritious ingredients, as she goes on to explain: “I’m consciously aware that sugar is detrimental to health when consumed in unhealthy amounts. I also believe that some cakes and desserts must be both healthy and delicious too, which enables everyone to have an occasional and pleasurable treat. So I develop and research alternative ingredients to illustrate how this can be done. The beauty of my recipes is that they focus on flavour, which often means using less sugar and allowing other authentic ingredients like vanilla to “sing”.”

The programme of events on the Cornelius stand also includes further live demonstrations and talks by industry speakers throughout the three-day show. The line-up includes Lonza Nutrition, a leading provider of high quality branded food ingredients, Ganeden, a probiotic ingredients manufacturer and Sluys, a manufacturer of flavours, drink concentrates and beverage emulsions.

Other partners include Asiros, a bio-active food ingredient and formulation manufacturer based in Denmark and Evolva, a Swiss fermentation specialist.
