Dear Industry Colleague,
Some of you may be aware of recent publicity in the Sunday Times and elsewhere surrounding the use of child labour in mica mining in India and the subsequent use of that mica in production of special effect pigments.
Whilst not implicated in this article, as the representative for BASF in the UK & Ireland, we felt it important that we inform you of the BASF & Cornelius position with regards to this very important matter.

First and foremost, BASF are a founding member of UN Global Compact and condemns all forms of child labour. You can access the BASF official statement here.
Cornelius's own values and principles fully reinforce and support this position, deeming child labour of any form completely unacceptable as part of our adherence to SA8000 accreditation standards.

We hope this gives you both confidence and reassurance in the integrity of the supply chain from Cornelius and indeed reinforces our position and values with you and also your own customers in turn.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact your usual Cornelius Representative.
