Zara Cunliffe Presents Nanoz Nano Particle Zinc Technology To Bsct
Cornelius technical sales Representative Zara Cunliffe made a presentation to the British Society for Coatings Technology on Thursday 5th October on new Nano particle zinc oxide, on behalf of Brian Innes of Advanced Nanotechnology. Brian was unfortunately unable to get from Eurocoat in Barcelona to the UK at the last minute. This brand new development gives maximum UV protection to surfaces whilst maintaining high gloss and clarity in clear coatings. The unique, patented mechano-chemical process used to manufacture the NanoZ gives a product with a very narrow particle size distribution with no end tail large PS material that would detract from clarity. Also treatment given during this process prevents re-agglomeration. Initially developed for clear sunscreens, this technology lends itself well into the Industrial market for potential use in clear wood coatings, plastic packaging films, clear architectural and potentially automotive coatings. It also works synergistically in combination with HALS and other commercial UV stabilizers.
