Trends
This Autumns make-up sees the return of two dramatic trends - red lips and black eyeliner.
Red lips of all shades are a huge story for the coming season. Light bright reds were seen at Ashish and Proenza Schouler, true Hollywood classic reds were favoured by Gucci (as shown left) and Roberto Cavalli and at Valentino, Kenzo and Salavatore Ferregamo lips were painted with vampish deepest plum reds.
Bold Cleopatra eyes were seen at Alexander McQueen, whilst at Dior dramatic upward ticks were enhanced with exaggerated false lashes. Louis Vuitton's cats's eyes created a bold statement on otherwise plain faces and Prada model's were also minimalist save for strong eyeliner on the upper lid.
Beauty brand MAC, designer Alexander McQueen and make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury collaborated to launch Alexander McQueen for MAC, a 16-strong cosmetics collection created for the Autumn/winter 2007 Alexander McQueen catwalk show (as shown below). The runway look was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra, and the collection will feature eye paints including Electro Sky (royal blue), Pharaoh (yellow green) and Otherworldly (sea blue). Also included in the range, which will be available from the MAC website and Harrods, are new shades of black kohl eyeliners, nude lipsticks and Lip Glass lip glosses and a golden bronze Mineralize Skin Finish. |

Estee Lauder's Autumn Collection, After Hours, contains some new products as well as updated colour variants classic staples. Limited Edition Brilliant Shimmer All-Over Powder is a compact featuring three powder shades, which combined create a luminous look.
New Double Wear Stay-in-Place ShadowStick comes in stick form which applies as a cream but sets to a powder finish which lasts for 12 hours.
Double Wear Zero-Smudge Liquid Eyeliner gives precision application with 15 hours of wear. |
Also new for eyes are three limited edition shades of Pure Color Eyeshadow: Pale Moon, Silver Moon and Smoky Moon.
Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick is now available in the limited edition shades of After Hours Red, Midnight Pink and Midnight Rose.
Lastly, as part of the After Hours collection, two limited edition colours have been added to the Pure Color Nail Lacquer range: Bordeaux and Ruby.
The Body Shop's Fabulous Metallics collection picks up on Autumn's trend for shimmering metallics with this colour range.
Shimmer Squares and Shimmer Smudgers for the eyes feature shades of bronze, gold and copper rose. Brilliance Powder has a built in brush and provides all over glow. Precious Rouge lip colour is available in several wine hued shades.
Boots No.7 have launched a vintage range which will be on sale for a limited period this Autumn. Eye, lip and shimmer palettes are available. |

Diorissime Ready-To-Wear Makeup Clutch For Eyes and Lips is available in two colour varients: Daylight Madonna and Seductive Drama. Each palette contains four eyeshadows and two lipglosses and is presented in the style of a pink clutch bag. |
YSL have launched Beaute Palette Esprit Couture which is available in two colour variants each of which show a woman in a couture gown with a large bow. The powders are suitable for the face and eyes.
Eyes
New to Lancome's Autumn 2007 range is the Destiny Cube which contains two complimentary eye shades in a dice shaped cube complete with mirror and applicators.
New Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadows come in 12 shades ranging from neutral taupe and grey to vivid green and turquoise. The formulation is said to be velvety soft with no chalky residue. |  |

Baume Baiser Rose Marshmallow Lip Balm is the new lip balm soon to launched by Lancome. It has a marshmallow texture as well as scent.
Also new from Lancome this Autumn is Rouge Absolu Désir, a new collection of lipsticks which combine rich smooth application with pigment boosting technology and a hydrating formulation which moisturises for six hours. Inspired by this Autumns passion for red lips the collection comprises of seven rich shades including four reds: Rouge Desir, Amoureuse, Idole and Tendre Baisers. |
