Chroma-Lite colors offer an excellent balance of luster, transparency and color. They provide a wide range of aesthetic effects, including smooth and continuous lusters from soft matte to satiny Chroma-Lite colors enhance product performance because their colorants are bonded to bismuth oxychloride that is coated on mica. The result is a composite pigment that imparts a silky feel to many cosmetic and personal care formulations while improving their skin adhesion. They also have less density and greater crystal strength than bismuth oxychloride alone. And, since their colorant is dispersed throughout the pigment, they can eliminate the grinding and dispersion problems often associated with traditional absorption color pigments. Each of the 14 colors in the Chroma-Lite family can be used alone, in combination with one another, or mixed with other BASF effect enhancing pigments. This gives formulators the opportunity to develop unique colors, visual effects and textures.
